Sir Thomas Lipton is considered to be the most tenacious challenger in the history of the America’s Cup. On five unsuccessful occasions over a span of 30 years he tried to bring the pre-stigious cup home to America. But Lipton was never daunted as he knew that participation in this most important regatta was excellent advertising for the tea which carried his name. Our model is the 1st construction of the Shamrock which lost against Columbia in 1899.
